Park Animus
Τhe Animus “No borders Park” is a disability accessible park in the outdoor space of the “Αnimus Rehabilitation Center” located close to Larisa city. The construction study was done in the context of a dialogue with the engravings and sculptures to the amphitheater located opposite it, which created by the famous landscape sculptor Nella Golanda and depict Neolithic symbols of the Thessalian plain. The view of the park gazes across the primeval plain of Thessaly and the mythical mountain of Olympus. The purpose of the project is to transfer outdoor rehabilitation in a way, that does not differentiate into groups and degrees of disability but to encourage the fermentation of socialization to all kind of human differences. The main design purpose is to take advantage the slopes on the hill in a smooth relationship with the wider landscape, breaking the limits of the access on a wheelchair route. The routes are created for both the disabled and their companions. The experience actualized as the different levels effect the continuous changes of the visual perspectives, that are channeled into spaces, consisting of soft material platforms or natural embankments to intensify the experience of access from the alternating levels and ramps giving the choice of the level you wish to be.
